The Jordan Peele produced Candyman reboot, from director Nia DaCosta, is one of horror fans’ most highly-anticipated horror movies of 2020, but so far, there’s no sign of a trailer release.
Building off a legacy that began in 1992 from director Bernard Rose, the story of Candyman – whose real name is Daniel Robitaille enchanted audiences with gothic horror tropes and dark romantic fantasy that stemmed from a story by Clive Barker. The 1992 film starred Tony Todd and Virginia Madsen as Helen Lyle, who has recently been confirmed to be returning to the film in some capacity.
It’s common for horror movie trailers to release with others in theaters. Given that 2020 has some incredible movies on the way, even early in the year, there is ample opportunity for Candyman to launch its trailer. Recent news from Bloody Disgusting points to a chance that Candyman could release a trailer to coincide with The Invisible Man, which releases February 28th. Right now, this seems to be the most likely possibility, but there are alternatives.
